I spend a day doing a "4-Corners" activity in class.
Signs are posted in each corner of the room stating "Strongly Agree," "Somewhat Agree," "Somewhat Disagree" and "Strongly Disagree"
Students are asked a variety of questions concerning topics related to Of Mice and Men. (See file) When a question is asked, students have to move to the corner that corresponds with their personal opinion.
After students move, I have them take a minute to jot down some thoughts in their journals as to why they chose that answer.
Some will want to talk about their opinions, others will not. I give extra credit for kids who want to share their beliefs. ~Jen
